Waimea is starting a new program in 2020 to offer volunteer opportunities to families in our community. We will have ‘Ohana Volunteer Days one Saturday per month.  These are geared towards the families in the area with younger kids as an opportunity for them to get involved and learn.

The projects will generally be located in the botanical gardens and cultural sites. These opportunities will be for a maximum of 30 participants each day and will be open to all ages, but recommended to the parents with children under 12 years old.

RSVP are required to attend. Gloves and tools will be provided along with a project that is suitable to the group.

The basic schedule for one of these volunteer days will be: -9:00am Volunteers Arrive sign waivers -9:15am Volunteer group will participate in the oli protocol -9:30am Arrive at Volunteer Site -11:30am Volunteer project is finished, volunteers are encouraged to get lunch at our snack shop and explore the valley. There will also be optional cultural activities after the work is done. Look for our events listed in the calendar to find the program dates.
