Explore & Restore Wildlife for Waterbirds

Help restore the Kawanui-Hamakua Complex Wildlife Sanctuary to its natural state for native Hawaiian shorebirds, waterfowl, fish and flora. Volunteer days occur on first Saturday’s of the month rotating at different sites in the Kawainui-Hamākua Complex. The Kawainui Wildlife Sanctuary is a protected area and is closed to the public, on volunteer days DOFAW invites the public to help mālama ʻāina the wetland from 9a to 12p.
